Public Buses Provided by Singapore Transit and Trans Island or TIBs.	Cheapest fares among all forms of transport. Most buses are also air-conditioned. Can easily get you anywhere if you know the right bus numbers. Starting March 2002, according to reports in the Straits Times, buses will also function with smart cards that charge fees through wireless scanning when passengers board and alight buses.	Peak periods are a nightmare. Be prepared to stand for up to an hour on jerky buses. For foreigners, the array of bus numbers mean nothing so get a bus guide available at all bus interchanges and bookshops.	You flag your hand to stop a bus, bad luck if a moody driver refuses to stop or stops the bus 10m away! Be prepared for chilly rides as air-conditoners go full blast. Noisy school children crowd the back seats and make considerable noise so choose middle or front seats.
Taxis or cabs. Various companies, no pirate taxis here, taxis are indicated with a sign on the car's roof.	Fastest public transport around. Some friendly and chatty drivers might even show u a thing or 2, food, places of interest, etc. Cabs run on meters so no unfair fares/charges.	Also the most expensive form of transport. Initial charge ofS$2.40 when u get on the taxi, that's worth a few rides on a bus.	Taxi drivers who drive like Schumacher in a Ferrari, grip tight especially on expressway/speedway rides, some drivers drive fast to save time which in Singapore, is called money. Also, don't expect drivers to load your luggage, feel lucky if they do though.
Mass Rapid Transit , commonly known as MRT, a form of rail transportation.	Pretty speedy transport. No traffic lights, no road stops. Not expensive too. Well explained diagrams at stations. Best form of transportation if you need to see Singapore in a day.	Again, peak periods are nightmares, be sure to stand near the door when your stop is next.	Best way to witness Singapore's ugly culture. Miss stops when boarding passengers barge in like bulls and stop you from alighting. Some school kids might even block your way by sitting around on the floors of the train, butts allergic to seats?
Private Cars	Best form of transportation. Not during peak hour traffic jams though.	Most expensive cars in the world. High levys ensure u pay a least $50,000 for a new car. And that's for like hatchbacks and 1.0 litre ones!	Impatient drivers at carparks. Illiterate or idiotic drivers who do not pay their parking fees and get stuck at the automated gantry, causing long queues and jams.
