THE SINGAPORE FOOD WEBSITE

Food Safety:

Food consumption is safe in Singapore. All eateries are licenced and checked by government authorities. Illegal and unhygenic hawkers are unheard of today.

Supermarkets/Grocers in Singapore:

Supermarkets in Singapore are the next best source of food besides eating outlets. Ready to eat sushi and "microwavable" food is everywhere! So for tourists or visiting foreigners, save some $$ and visit the supermarket for cheap deals!

ntuc.JPG (8019 bytes) NTUC Fair Price chain of supermarket is currently the best place to find cheap and wide variety of products. It is also the big boss here with the most coverage island wide.

This 24-hr convenient store is a good place to chill out and convenient place to dine with all sorts of beverages and ready to eat stuff like sandwhiches.

Another supermarket similar to NTUC. Cheap deals too but not a very attractive place to shop.

This respectable convenient store chain is the Singaporean heartlander's pride and 7-eleven's rival. Call it the modern "mama shop". By the way mama shops refer to small provision shops set up by Indian migrants which few exist today. ths franchise business is doing well but tourists, don't expect 7-eleven style quality, no ready to consume food here, just plain personalised service for local residents.
